Elevate your Easter candy giving (and hopefully some getting) this year with our round up of egg-stravagant (oh yes, we did!) offerings. —Catherine Dunwoody
Buttermere Patisserie’s beautiful seven-inch-tall chocolate eggs are filled with dragées (tiny assorted candy eggs made with nuts and freeze-dried fruits). Gently tap open the Pastel Splash Egg, the Pearl Egg or the space-age-looking Metallic Egg (each comes with its own mini hammer) to discover. $52 per egg, available until April 5th for pre-order now until April 1st or walk-in purchase.
The Rocky Mtn Chocolate collection includes 20 Easter basket essentials. We especially love the Some Bunny is a Winner: nine-ounce chocolate bunnies that contain gummy carrots and special prize coupons that range from $3 to $100, plus a grand-prize gift card for a $1,000 shopping spree. Check out the Bomb Boxes and Unicorn Bar, too. Shop in stores and online until April 4th.
Temper Chocolate & Pastry’s Steven Hodge’s fresh-baked hot cross buns and chocolate mini eggs are lovely, but we can’t get enough of the Egg Showpiece ($35): a signature dark-chocolate Easter egg in pastel blue, pink, orange, green, yellow or purple, filled with dark, milk and white chocolate frictures. Available in store or online until April 5th.
Prefer gummies to chocolate? Squish Candies has a new Easter Collection, and the tiny individually wrapped packs make an egg hunt safe and easy. Made with real fruit juice in fun shapes and packaging, we love this Canadian brand.
Mon Paris Pâtisserie’s owner and pastry chef Elena Krasnova has created elegant viennoiseries available for in-store pickup and delivery. These Fruit and Nut Easter Eggs ($23) are eight-inches tall in milk or dark chocolate and filled with caramelized (you guess it) nuts and dried fruits. Order in advance for pickup or delivery online.
