Here’s a flickering find from a Canadian, female-founded lifestyle brand called 4 Letters Series, which drops intentionally designed products for a limited time. With a passion for storytelling, each release is also done with an artistic collaborator as part of the creative process.
The latest (“Drop 2”) from 4 Letter Series is a quartet of candles ($68 each) co-designed between 4 Letter Series founder Rachel Walderman and renowned Canadian artist Madeleine Gross. Just in time for the holidays, these candles play on the nostalgia and emotions of scent. Each features a four-letter word (WARM, BEAU, PURE and HIGH) to be interpreted by you, and that you are encouraged to make your own. The candles’ scents were also chosen through an intensive process, to ensure they could evoke an emotion that each user could feel a personal attachment to. Notes of cedarwood and honey are included in one, and almond and saffron in another, as an example.
In conjunction with their high-end, handmade products, 4 Letter Series also uses their channels as platforms to tell stories of failure, growth and hope. That said, Madeleine explains, “The word HIGH on one of our candles especially stands out to me, given I’m constantly trying to connect with my higher self, by meditating, watching my thoughts and manifesting. And to me, the meaning of HIGH is a higher presence, a higher vibration, a moment or feeling without any fear.” —Noa Nichol
