At the Met Gala this past Monday Gigi Hadid showed off a custom vinyl look created by Maybelline New York‘s global brand ambassador Erin Parsons and featuring the new Maybelline Superstay Vinyl Ink Lipstick and other core products. Erin’s inspo came from Gigi’s high-gloss vinyl outfit, creating a bright ombre two-toned lip, while keeping the skin mostly natural and some shading for a very soft makeup look with a standout glossy red lip. The look was clean, fresh and glowing. Here’s how to re-create it at home. —Vita Daily
face. Erin started with the SuperStay Longwear Liquid Foundation and paired it with the Superstay Active Wear Concealer on top. She set everything with the Lasting Fix Banana Setting Powder.
cheek. Heat Gel-Cream Blush was added for a flushed finish, with minimal contour, as Gigi really loved the idea of fresh skin with lots of blush. Erin then added Master Strobing Stick Illuminating Highlighter to the high points of Gigi’s face to add shine. Erin also used Fit Me Matte and Poreless Pressed Powder to touch up before Gigi got to the red carpet.
eye. Erin used just a touch of the shade Heroine from the Nudes of New York Eyeshadow Palette in the crease and under the eye to give a soft, clean look. For eyeliner, she used the shade Self-Started from the Nudes of New York Eyeshadow Palette with a brush to define the eye. She then swept Gigi’s lashes with Falsies Lash Lift Mascara. Brows were kept clean and neat using the Tattoo Studio Brow Lift Stick in Clear to lift and set them in place, without filling in.
lips. The look was all about the lips. Erin used the Color Sensational Shaping Lipliner to line the lips. Superstay Vinyl Liquid Lipcolour in Wicked was applied on the outer points of the lips followed by the Superstay Vinyl Liquid Lipcolour in Red-Hot on the centre, creating an ombre look. Much like Gigi’s outfit, the lip look was shiny, and budge-resistant with up to 16-hour wear that’s perfect for the carpet!
